After releasing my pink and red heart Valentine's Day line I had a request to make it for a birthday party. We changed a few things but overall the concept was the same. It made me wish my daughter's birthday was in February. What a fun theme and color scheme. It turned out to be such a cute girly party. Take a look at the party line and the customer photos I received.

Valentine's Day Mantle & Wreath

This year I decided to have fun decorating my house for my favorite holiday. How could I not with all the cute heart stuff I have been making. I will admit as soon as the Christmas stuff was out the banner was up. I slowly added a few more items to my mantle. I was inspired by one of my favorite blogs Craftaholics Anonymous. She always has such a fun themed mantle for each holiday. Here is my take.

I had several candles on my mantle previously. I dressed them up with strips of patterned scrapbook paper and ribbon to match my theme.
The xoxo frame is a free printable from the blog mentioned above. I was going to make my own subway art but this freebie saved me the time. Love the pop of color it adds.
The Kiss blocks were $1 at Target. The say Hugs, XOXO, and Love as well. Such a fun inexpensive addition.

Of course I included a 5M Creations Valentine's Day Love centerpiece in pink and red...

and a matching LOVE banner in pink and red. (and don't forget the boa...it filled in the space nicely)

To complete the look I added a vase of glittery hearts. I found these at my local craft store. A Valentine's Day take on my vase of ornaments at Christmas. Plus a few more dressed up candles.

I love the overall look. It makes me smile every time I walk in the room.

The last touch I added to my home this year was a new wreath for the front door. This was also inspired by Craftaholics Anonymous. You can see her wreath here. She has a tutorial to make rosettes on her site. Since I did not have a ruffler foot for my sering machine(or actually event know where my machine is) I decided to go the no sew option with some fun heart fabrics. Not exactly the look I was going for but a fun touch of color.

The flowers are snapped on with alligator hair clips. I can swap them out for other colors for different seasons. Love this element.

I had one more project I meant to complete this year but it will have to wait. I bought cute little mail boxes and candle sticks to paint for my kids Valentine's. It will give me something to make next year.

And this beauty in pink. Amazing how the craft stores were out of heart forms starting in January and did not get them back. :( I will be buying the next one I see to put away. I cannot wait for it to greet me next year.

DIY Ornament Garland

This is a super easy way to make a big visual impact in your decor. This ornament garland is perfect for any table, mantle, or like mine on top of my entry way shelf. It is such a great pop of color.

Start with a collection of shatterproof ornaments in any color.

Use any grosgrain ribbon that will coordinate with your ornaments. I used white and it just disappeared beneath all the ornaments as I hoped.

Cut ribbon at an angle to make a point. Feed the ribbon through loop at top of ornament. Some brands of ornaments may require you to hot glue the ornament top to ornament. Without this they may fall off garland. Test a few to see if you need to do this. Mine did not.

Alternate colors as you go to create dimension. You can rotate and turn them to get the placement you want during or after stringing. You can use a variety of sizes for a fuller garland. The smaller ones will fill in any gaps although they are not necessary. I used all one size.

Continue to string ornaments until you reach your desired length constantly moving them down as needed. Knot ribbon at both ends and trim. Your ornament garland is complete. Display it in your home for all to see.

I used approximately 75+ ornaments to create a 4ft long garland.

DIY Glitter Trees Tutorial

Here is a quick tutorial on how to make the DIY Glitter trees featured in the Christmas Birthday Party. I forgot to take photos of the process when I made the originally. I had planned to make another to show but my local craft store is out of the cones now. :( You will have to use your imagination as you read along.

Start with paper mache cones in any variety of sizes. You could also use foam cones but I liked the smoothness of these to work with.

Hold on to the tip and drizzle plain white Elmer's Glue all over cone. I used a sponge brush to spread the glue over the cone evenly until covered. You can go back after the base is dried and touch up the tip.

Sprinkle glitter of any color over entire cone while rotating and tap off excess.

Set carefully on wax paper and allow to dry. Once it is dry go back and touch up the tip and any other spots light on glitter. I just used my sponge again with a light amount of glue on it. I dabbed any needed spots and sprinkled the glitter again.

Once final touch ups are dried go outside and spray entire cone with a sealer like this. It will seal the glitter so it does not flake off everywhere and give it a glossy shine.

Allow to dry and you will have gorgeous glitter cone trees. Super easy and sparkly.

Mine are now a part of my Christmas mantle

and end table. I added a few vases of ornaments and this quick and easy subway art Christmas wording to complete the look.

Pancake Christmas Pajama Birthday Party

Finally here is a look at the red and lime green ornament Christmas birthday party. My best friend and I threw this for our 5 year old daughters. It features many 5M Creations products along with several DIY crafts I cannot wait to share with you. I will be posting different elements of the party over the next week. Here is a look at the actual party. We invited all the kids to come in their Christmas pajamas for a pancake breakfast.

Guests were welcomed with this cute snowman and 5M Creations polka dot balloons in red and lime green.

And of course a 5M Creations Happy Birthday party sign on the interior door to set the theme for the party.

Our cupcake table featured a fun centerpiece, tissue poms, and cupcake toppers.

You can view the tutorial for these here. To get the red and green layered look I just stacked the tissue paper in alternating color before folding.

These beauties decorated a table in the room. Red, lime green, and silver glitter trees and vases filled with ornaments. Be watching for a DIY tutorial for the trees.

And ate them of course.

We played an impromptu game of pin the Santa on the Christmas tree. We happened to have 2 sided wrapping paper with us with Santa on the back.

And ate cupcakes. Yes we loaded them full of sugar.

Everyone in their jammies.

As they left each child received a favor box. Watch for a post later this week for a peek inside of them and another crafty idea.

It was such a fun party. I cannot believe our girls are 5. I am so thankful for all the friends who made this party so much fun. Happy Birthday girls.

Here is a closer look at the new pink and green owl party line. This cute party was thrown by my sister in law for my adorable niece. It was such a fun party. Enjoy!

The guests were welcomed by this sweet owl party sign.

The table was framed by 5M polka dot balloons in the party colors. An owl Happy Birthday banner, cupcake toppers, party circle, and more created a sweet party setting.

This owl party circle is a great way to add your theme to any party container. The owl was carried throughout the party in the cake and little plush owls as well.

Ribbon was added in several places in the party colors to add an extra touch of color to many elements. I love this cake stand. I can interchange ribbon for any party.

Cupcake toppers personalized with the child's name & age.

An owl party centerpiece adds color and your theme throughout the room. Again ribbon was used to dress up a plain white box.

The sweet birthday girl was dressed in a tutu and shirt by Adorrable Craftorr in one our theme collaborations.

As guests left they were given a sweet favor to go.

The favor was a box of chocolates tied with polka dot ribbon and a Thank you tag. Inside featured personalized candy wrappers. They said Look Whoo's One! & Happy Birthday Emma.

The space also had a collage of the birthday girls first year. Such a fun way to look back at how she has grown.

This is a fun custom set for a University of Kentucky 1st Birthday Party in blue and white. The mom wanted to use polka dots and scalloped circles to make it a bit more girly. A few months back I created a rubber duck sign in a boy and girl version. The customer made them into wreaths for the mommy's hospital room door when the baby was born. Such a creative idea.

I was recently asked to create a matching party set for a baby shower. They originally did not know they gender but right before I started creating everything I got an email saying it was a girl and to add pink. I was so excited. Sweet Little Bird Baby Shower

My friend Dara threw a baby shower for our friend Jill a few weeks ago. I helped by designing the invites and adding some pieces to the decor. The mommy to be mentioned she wanted birds so we did them in a sweet pink and green.

Bird Baby Shower Invitation

This sweet card was given to the mommy to be along with my gift. It is perfect for a baby girl. The background has sweet descriptive words all about baby.

My gift was a name banner to match the nursery and baby shower decor.

This banner features, pink and green scalloped circles, a pink bird with sweet green wing, and green polka dot ribbon.

My friend throwing the shower creates adorable diaper cakes. She used ribbon to match the banner and some of my die cuts to tie it all into the theme.

The spread: All of our friends brought yummy treats to share.

The polka dot table cloth and matching ribbon through the cake stand add another element of color to the room.

One of our friends makes adorable cupcakes for a lot of parties. She blessed us with her talent by bringing these sweet birdies to match perfectly.

This little box was the prize for the baby shower game made by Dara. Be watching for these and many other styles with a cute favor tag on the front coming to my store soon.

New Personalized items to complete your party!

5M Creations now has personalized water bottle labels, napkin rings, and candy bar wrappers. They can be made to match almost any theme. Here is a look at a few I started with. These match the boy & girl cupcake, owl, and dinosaur lines. The pink would be cute with the princess font as well. Plus the Minnie & Mickey was just done for a custom order. Wouldn't minnie be cute in hot pink and zebra print to match this invite?

Here is a sample of some personalized water bottle options. As mentioned they can be done in almost any theme. I have a dinosaur version as well.

The fonts on each bottle matches the party line from the invites, to the banner and centerpieces.

The center age can of course be changed.

They fit most standard water bottles. They come on a sheet of water resistant labels. Just peel and stick.

Also available are matching napkin rings. They come pre cut with a strip of adhesive on the back. Just peel and wrap around your napkins.

Dinosaur Birthday Party Set

This last weekend we got to attend a 5th birthday party of our friend Koleson. I was honored to make some of his dinosaur party decorations and thought I would share with you. His mommy did a great job of adding some fun personal touches everywhere.

She had dinosaurs everywhere! Love the combo of the die cut pieces and realistic ones.

The kids made these adorable dino hats,

played pin the horn on the triceratops,

balance the dino egg on a spoon, and had lots of fun just playing.

This is the birthday boy pushing my little girl.

I made this dino birthday card to match his set.

This is one version of the dinosaur invitation. Can be done with the orange t-rex as well.

They are using the decor for both this kids and family party with his 2 yr old brother. This little green dino is perfect for the 2 yr old while the 5 yr old loves orange and t-rex. Fun to pull them both together.

Mother's Day Cards

I know I am a little late but I thought I would share the Mother's Day cards I made for our moms and my sister in law. I fell in love with this color combo and knew this was the perfect chance to use it. Someday I will be ahead of things and have cards done before the weekend of to be able to see again. :)

Wedding Invitations

I had the honor of making the wedding invitations for my Aunt's wedding this summer. We started out with a few sample ideas of things she like and the concept of somehow using purple, blue, and flowers. The first few invites are samples I have her.

She found a diamond style she liked so I attempted that with a hydrangea flower paper.

The other aspect she wanted to incorporate was a double heart image and a soft bow.

Once the wording was decided on we went to a 5x7 shape to allow for enough room. We kept the paper, bow, and hearts she loved and added a soft ivory paper to pull the tones of the flowers throughout.

This is the final invite she chose with a matching insert.

I love that there is such an array of invites inspired by one color palette.
